cinematic edit
these are the images i chose for the editing assignment. it didn’t take much longer than ten minutes to do the edits i wanted.
this is the image i entered into the contest. i went to the bird refuge and took some pictures around 6:30. i got some with really cool sun flares. i had a aperture of 5.6 and shutter speed of 1/200 i was on my lowest setting for ISO. i made sure the model was wearing good colors for where we were going to take pictures.

i entered this contest because i could win a really nice lens from it. also i could get my images posted other places to get my name out there and know by other people.

this is my high ISO. it was taken in a dark corner with a small flash.
While in aperture priority your camera decides what aperture your camera will be depending on your lighting and other factors. when in exposure priority you will not have control of your exposure your camera will automatically set that. if you are in manual mode you have control over everything, the exposure, the ISO, the shutter speed. You control every function of the camera and how it shoots.
This is what the setting for aperture priority looks like on a Canon camera.

A Nikon D5000 has 11 focus points(2 horizontal on the sides, 8 vertical, and 1 center cross type). It has four AF Area modes: Single Point, Dynamic Area, Auto Area, and 3D Tracking. In Single and Dynamic Area, you can manually adjust the focusing point using the multi-selector. With 3D Tracking, you manually select a focusing point and place it over the desired subject.
As you can see in the image to the left and below the top and bottom are the 2 horizontal focus points. The 8 vertical points are the 4 on the left and the 4 on the right. leaving the center as the cross type focus point. the different points help your camera focus on your subject when it is in different parts of your view finder.

as you can probably tell by my post. Your focal length has a huge impact on how your photos turn out looking. if you dont pay attention to the focal length you will get portraits like the 18mm focal length.
